Embedded system adalah Sebuah sistem komputer tertanam (didalam chip atau board khusus) yang didesain khusus untuk melakukan pekerjaan yang spesifik. Embedded system mempunya banyak keunggulan seperti bentuknya yang minimalis, relatif lebih cepat dibandingkan sistem komputer yang dibagun di PC serta kebutuhan daya yang sedikit untuk bisa bekerja. Ada banyak pemanfaatan embedded system di sekitar kita seperti router, smartphone, single board computer (Raspberry Pi) dll.
